Nursing students join day of prayer

A dozen MacMurray College nursing seniors participated in the National Day of Prayer for Mental Illness Recovery and Understanding held at Hope Presbyterian Church in Springfield on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Kayla Wray, of Godfrey, was asked to represent the students and assisted with the service.

 Jill Parsons, assistant professor of nursing, and Georgine Berent, associate professor of nursing and who teaches MacMurray’s Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing course, accompanied the students to the event.

 The event was one of several activities hosted by the Springfield Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness during Mental Health Awareness.
