MacMurray College hires new professor

MacMurray College welcomed Deborah Kuzmanovic to campus this semester. She will be teaching biology classes, genetics classes, biochemistry and microbiology.
Kuzmanovic has an extensive background. She was a second year Term Assistant Professor in Biology at Grinnell College, where she taught about molecules, cell biology and introduction to bioinquiry: “Gene, Drugs and Toxins,” each with laboratory sections. Prior to that, she was an assistant research scientist, principal investigator and lecturer at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, with a joint appointment in biophysics and the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology.
Kuzmanovic earned her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. She has a master’s degree in molecular biology from Princeton University in Princeton, NJ, and earned her doctorate at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.
