MacMurray welcomes new chaplain
Rev. Jean Hembrough joins campus religious life
The Rev. Jean Hembrough has been named the new chaplain for MacMurray College. She will be responsible for the progress of spiritual life on campus, including counseling students and taking part in baccalaureate and commencement ceremonies.
Hembrough received her bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL, and holds a Master of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL.
“I am pleased and humbled to join the current MacMurray family and the long line of those who have gone before,” she said. “I look forward to getting on board with the MacMurray team in serving this campus and community.”
The pastor of Centenary United Methodist Church, she lives in Jacksonville, IL with her husband Richard “Dick” Hembrough.
