MacMurray senior honored
Dana Steben named student leader of the month.
Dana Steben, a senior double majoring in accounting and business, was named Student Leader of the Month for April at MacMurray College.
Steben, pictured receiving her award from Dean of Student Affairs Martin Sabolo, was selected for her strong work ethic, campus involvement and her academic success. She is active in athletics, playing on the women’s soccer, golf, basketball and softball teams; is president of Belles Lettres, a literary society; treasurer of BACCHUS - Boost Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students; president of the Mortar Board Honor Society; and is an active member in both the Campus Activities Board and Greek Council.
Steben was nominated by Emily Wright, associate professor business and chair of the Division of Business and Criminal Justice. “Dana keeps me on my toes!” said Wright, “I love having her in my classes.”
Steben also received support from Library Director Susan Eilering. “Dana has been working in the library for the last three years. In that time she has become a valuable team member. She skillfully juggles school work, sports and campus activities while still making contributions to the library. Dana shares her energy and knowledge with students. She is patient, creative and always willing to assist with anything needed by both patrons and staff.”
Steben is the daughter of Jeff and Patti Steben of Lombard, IL. To be named a student leader, scholars must show academic excellence and involvement around campus.
