Anastasia Morwell named Student of the Month

MacMurray junior receives October recognition.


MacMurray College named Anastasia Morwell of Quincy, IL as the Student of the Month for October. She was nominated by Dan Callihan, assistant director of the Center for Learning excellence.

Morwell, a 2010 graduate of Quincy Senior High is the daughter of Rev. Robert and Nina Morwell. She is a junior majoring in deaf education at MacMurray College, with a 3.51 GPA. 

Morwell holds many titles at MacMurray College. They include president of the Council for Exceptional Children, vice president of Phi Nu, treasurer of Alpha Lambda Delta, and she is a MacMurray College representative for the Illinois Teachers of Hard of Hearing & Deaf Individuals (ITHI). She also volunteers at the Illinois School for the Deaf (ISD) and is a senior assistant at the Center for Learning Excellence. 

This recognition puts Morwell in the running for MacMurray College’s Student of the Year award.
