Mac training against sexual assault
Sexual assault training intervention takes place on campus.
JACKSONVILLE, IL – The Prairie Center Against Sexual Assault teamed up with the MacMurray College Social Work Program last week to conduct a 40-hour professional training for sexual assault intervention. The training was May 21-25, and 11 MacMurray students took part.
The sexual assault training program provided MacMurray students with the necessary knowledge and skills to support survivors of sexual abuse and sexual assault. Upon completion of the course, students earned a professional certification that allows them to volunteer or work for any of the 33 Rape Crisis Centers in Illinois that are governed by the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault.
This one-week training was facilitated by Jodi Pupillo, MSW, a 2009 MacMurray graduate and a sexual assault therapist and advocate for The Prairie Center Against Sexual Assault in Springfield, IL.
