Faculty member presents research in Texas
MacMurray assistant professor attends national conference
JACKSONVILLE, IL – MacMurray Assistant Professor of Biology Christy Wolovich recently presented a paper at the 34th annual meeting of the American Society of Primatologists. The meeting was held Sept. 16-20 in Austin, Texas.
Wolovich has presented many papers at conferences before, but this is her first presentation on research she conducted in Gambia, West Africa.Wolovich’s paper was entitled “Mixed-species associations of western red colbus (Piliocolobus badius) and green vervets (Chlorocebus sabaeus) in the Gambia.”
“It was great to present this paper at this year’s ASP meeting,” said Wolovich. “I received a lot of positive feedback from fellow primatologists and conservation biologists regarding the importance of such work in West Africa.”
Wolovich received a faculty development award from MacMurray College to cover expenses related to the conference.
