Student selected as college’s first social work liaison
Meagan Pinkerton is now a new member of national organization.
JACKSONVILLE, IL – MacMurray College is pleased to announce that Meagan Pinkerton has been chosen as MacMurray’s first ever Social Work BSW Program Student Liaison to the Illinois Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). NASW is the largest organization of professional social workers in the world.
Pinkerton, daughter of Ritch and Grace Pinkerton of Carrollton, IL, is a freshman in the MacMurray Social Work program. Her mother is a 2001 MacMurray BSW graduate. Pinkerton has demonstrated early academic skills and leadership. She was selected internally by the faculty and staff of the Social Work Program.“Her role will be the primary liaison between the Mac Social Work Program and the NASW Illinois Chapter, Student Network Shared Interest Group,” said Joe Squillace, MacMurray’s BSW program director. “Meagan will provide the leadership to coordinate presentations about social work licensure, Advocacy Day events, and master's level programs to MacMurray BSW students and faculty."
