Local student honored

Kelsie Huffman, of Waverly, named student of the month.


Kelsie Huffman, a sophomore nursing student, was named Student of the Month for February at MacMurray College. Huffman is a Waverly High School graduate and the granddaughter of Bev and Gary Huffman of Waverly.

Huffman, selected for her strong work ethic and her academic success, is also active in theater classes and productions at MacMurray. She has worked the past two years in the Institutional Advancement office, where “she is thorough and consistent, always working with a positive attitude and a smile,” said Bridget Phillips, executive director for Institutional Advancement.

She received support for the award from her theater instructor, Kerry Hahn, theater production coordinator and adjunct theatre instructor, and was nominated by Christina Wells, director of Alumni Services.
