Nursing professional joins MacMurray’s faculty
Jill Parsons will instruct classes and conduct clinical.
Jill Parsons joins MacMurray’s faculty this semester as an assistant professor of nursing. She comes to MacMurray from Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in Peoria where she instructed students in classroom and clinical settings and developed curriculum as an assistant professor. She also practiced as a nurse on a medical/surgical nursing unit at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
“We are pleased to have someone with Professor Parson’s clinical and teaching experience join our dedicated faculty” said JoEllen Brannan, Chair of the Division of Nursing.
Parsons has contributed to several nursing textbooks and presented research at the Midwest Nursing Research Society and St. Francis Medical Center.
For the spring semester, Parsons will instruct a health assessment lab and teach medical-surgical and leadership clinicals.
“I am proud to join MacMurry College,” said Parsons. “I look forward to working at a college with a strong sense of community. I believe small class sizes and a strong advising system are important for student success, and MacMurray offers both.”
Parsons has a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nursing from Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in Peoria, is a clinical nurse specialist and is expected to complete a Ph.D. in nursing this year at Saint Louis University.
