Deaf storyteller to perform at Mac
Peter Cook’s one-man show coming Jan. 17.

Renowned deaf performing artist Peter Cook will be presenting his one-man show Monday, Jan. 17 at 7:30 p.m. The show will be held at the Bailey Auditorium in the Julian Hall of Chemistry, located on Clay Avenue south of Beecher Avenue on the MacMurray College campus.
Cook’s work incorporates American Sign Language, pantomime, storytelling, acting and movement. He has been featured at festivals and schools throughout the United States, including the National Book Festival at the White House. Cook has also worked with deaf storytellers/poets in Canada, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Austria, and Japan.
He lives in Chicago and teaches at Columbia College, where he received an Excellence in Teaching award.
