Prof.’s work receives Award of Excellence
Khara Koffel eligible for Art St. Louis’ best-of-the-best exhibition.

MacMurray College’s Khara Koffel received an Award of Excellence at the Art St. Louis, XXVI: The Exhibition at the Art St. Louis Gallery in St. Louis.
By achieving an Award of Excellence, Koffel, an associate professor of art at MacMurray, is among 25 artists whose work is eligible for the Honor Awards 2011 show this spring at the Art St. Louis Gallery.
The gallery honors five Awards of Excellence at each of five shows through the year. The Honor Awards show presents work by 10 of those artists. The Honor Awards show, which opens April 18, will be curated by Marilu Knode, executive director of the Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis.
Koffel had two works accepted for the 26th annual exhibition at the Art St. Louis Gallery, "a miniature collection of everything" and "the inescapable inevitable." More than 100 artists submitted work and 31 were selected for the show, which continues through Dec. 30.
