Four fall athletes receive Academic All-Conference honors
LaToya Jones, Kelli Ruppel, Taylor Soat, and Karl Tooren honored for academic excellence.
MacMurray College had four fall athletes selected for the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic team. The student athletes are:

LaToya Jones is a junior with a double major in accounting and business administration from Gurnee, IL, and a graduate of North Chicago High School. She is the daughter of Leon and Nadine Jones of Gurnee.

Taylor Soat is a sophomore Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education major from Galena, IL, and a graduate of Galena High School. She is the daughter of Tim and Tami Soat of Galena.

Karl Tooren is a junior Physical Education major from Hoffman Estates, IL, and a graduate of Hoffman Estates High School. He is the son of Ralph and Barb Tooren of Hoffman Estates.

Kelli Ruppel is a senior biology major from Chandlerville, IL, and a graduate of A-C Central High School. She received All-Academic honors her sophomore and junior years as well. Ruppel, this year’s Lincoln Laureate at MacMurray, a statewide award, is the daughter of Phil and Tricia Ruppel of Chandlerville.
The four student-athletes named to the SLIAC’s academic team are varsity members of the volleyball or men’s soccer teams during the 2010 season. They must have a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average, at least sophomore standing and have attended the institution for at least a year.
