Staff member recognized for service
Cori Wagner is named volunteer of the month.
Cori Wagner, Coordinator for Career Services and Student Activities at MacMurray College, was recognized for her service to the Jacksonville community. She was named volunteer of the month for July by the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Wagner has been involved in the Education Division of the Chamber of Commerce. She worked on committees for the teacher appreciation reception and the student volunteer reception. Cori is also an active member of the Young Professionals Network, for which she planned various events including a softball tournament on the MacMurray campus.
“When I moved here, I did not know anyone in the state, let alone the town, so getting out in the community was the best way to start building networks,” said Wagner. “I started to attend YPN meetings, and those connections opened other doors for me, both personally and professionally. The Jacksonville community has been very good to me since I arrived here, so it is nice to be able to give something back.”
Cori is a native of Lapeer, Michigan. She moved to Jacksonville in 2008 when she accepted a position at MacMurray. At MacMurray, she coordinates internships, helps students organize activities and teaches career development classes.
