SAAC Student Athlete of the Month
October
Female- Alexis Apodaca Fresquez
Male- Storm Crouch
Men’s soccer player Storm Crouch is a freshman from Gibson City, IL. Storm was named men’s soccer team Captain this year after showing dedication, leadership, and hard work on and off the field. He played every minute of every game in the month of October anchoring the team’s defense. He is on pace to be a 3.0+ student, with his mid-term grades all A’s and B’s. He is also the men’s soccer representative to SAAC. Storm participated in s campus clean-up project during Homecoming week.
Women’s soccer player Alexis Apodaca-Fresquez, is a junior, from Littleton, CO. She is the women’s soccer team Captain for the second consecutive year. Alexis is the heart and soul of her team and transitioned extremely well into her new midfield role this year. In fact, she demonstrated so much quality this year she has been selected 2012 SLIAC Honorable Mention Team and she is a 3.0+ student with all A’s and B’s on this semester’s mid-term report. Alexis participated in a campus clean-up project during Homecoming week and she is a volunteer coach with the Winchester and Jacksonville youth soccer leagues.
SAAC Student-Athletes of the month are voted on by the 10 member Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Voting criteria includes: statistics, community projects, high academic standing, team morale, etc. Each coach in season nominates one player.
