The MacMurray College women's basketball team started strong Tuesday night in their final game of the season, but cold shooting led to a 74-50 loss to Iowa Wesleyan College.
It was also Senior Night and the Highlanders' lone senior, Gabby Douglas, was the only Mac player to score in double figures in the loss. Douglas scored nine first-half points, which helped the Highlanders jump out to an early 9-3 lead, and finished with eleven points in the final game of her career.
KayDee Carmody and Cydny Saxer added eight points apiece, and Megan Duisen had six points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Karla Vietinghoff paced Iowa Wesleyan College (22-3, 17-1 SLIAC) with a game-high 24 points.
Coach Derek James' club (3-22, 2-16 SLIAC) dropped their eleventh straight game to close out the 2013-14 season.
