The MacMurray College men's basketball team had their eight-game winning streak snapped and slipped to second place in the SLIAC standings Saturday afternoon falling 90-85 at Webster University. Coach Todd Creal's club had a five-point halftime lead on the road, but the Highlanders committed twice as many turnovers as Webster and couldn't contain Ahmad Smith (31 points).
James Williams came off the bench and hit five three-point field goals and scored a team-high 19 points in the loss. Brady Slagle added seventeen points and a game-high fourteen rebounds. Spencer Pratt (15 points) and Dylan Guthrie (14 points) also scored in double-figures for MacMurray.
The Highlanders (15-5 overall, 11-2 SLIAC) are now tied with Webster U. for second place (behind Spalding U.) in the conference standings. The Mac men will be home in their next three games, beginning with an 8PM game on Wednesday against Eureka College.
