Highlanders Fall 61-51 to Principia College

The MacMurray College shooting percentage at Principia College on Saturday was slighty better than the weather outside as they fell 61-51 to the previously winless Panthers.

Coach Derek James' team trailed 25-24 at the half and exchanged leads with Principia several times before fading in the final minutes.  The Highlanders shot 29% (17-57) in the game and only 1-10 in the second half from three-point range in the loss. 

Junior center Megan Duisen had nine points and a team-high eleven rebounds in the loss.  Cydny Saxer also had nine points and KayDee Carmody added eight points.

With the win, Principia College improves to 1-5 overall and 1-1 in SLIAC play; while the Highlanders fall to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

The Highlanders will host three teams next weekend in the MacMurray College Classic Tournament.  Friday's games begin at 5PM with Greenville College squaring off against St. Mary of the Woods College.  MacMurray College will face Calumet College of St. Joseph in the 8PM game. 

Saturday's games begin at noon with Calumet College of St. Joseph facing Greenville College; and the Highlanders will play St. Mary of the Woods College at 2PM.
