Gundy's Second-Half Outburst Leads Greenville Over MacMurray

February 1, 2014

MacMurray College freshman Carley Prince hit a long three-pointer at the end of the first half that trimmed Greenville College's lead to 41-37.  That was as close as the game would get as Emily Gundy sparked the visiting Panthers with 25 second-half points in an 89-59 SLIAC contest.

Coach Derek James' club was outscored 48-22 in the final half.  Carley Prince led the Highlanders with 19 points and sixe rebounds; and Emily Riddle was the only other Mac player in double-figures with eleven points.

Gundy led all scorers with 27 points. Coley Baker had 17 points and seven rebounds, Claire Schmitt added thirteen points and Miranda Murray added ten points for the Panthers.

Greenville College improves to 7-11 overall and 4-7 in SLIAC play; while the Highlanders fall to 3-15 overall and 2-9 in league play.

The Highlanders will be on the road at Blackburn College on Wednesday and will be at Webster University next Saturday.
