The MacMurray College Women's Basketball team overcame a 12-point half-time deficit enroute to picking up their second conference win in their last three games in a 63-59 win at Greenville College. Highlander freshman accounted for 50 of the team's 63 points; led by Carley Prince's game-high sixteen points.
Prince also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and added four assists in a break-out game for the freshman forward. Jordan Wall and Cydny Saxer, also first-year teammates, added twelve points apiece; and freshman guard Kaydee Carmody was 8-9 from the free-throw line and had ten points in the win.
"This is a big road win for us," said first-year Head Coach Derek James, "we were down eleven points late and battled back down the stretch...this team is really starting to gel."
The Highlanders (2-11, 2-5 SLIAC) have now won two of their last three games and leap-frogged over a pair of conference teams in the league standings with the win. Coach James' club will host Mount Mary University (Wis.) on Monday at 3PM in Wall Gymnasium in a non-conference game. The visiting Blue Angels enter the game with a 1-13 record.
