The MacMurray College men's basketball team won its sixth straight game and climbed to the top of the conference standings with a 76-52 win Wednesday night at Iowa Wesleyan College.
Senior forward Brady Slagle paced the Highlanders with a game-high 21 points and thirteen rebounds. Junior center Clayton Whitlock was perfect from the field (6-6) and added sixteen points off the bench. Paul Crowder also provided a spark off the bench with thirteen points and Cole Busch added twelve points in the road win.
Coach Todd Creal's club improves to 13-4 overall and 9-1 in the conference; while Iowa Wesleyan College falls to 5-11 overall and 2-7 in SLIAC play. The Mac win moved them into a tie for first place in the conference standings with Spalding University.
The Highlanders will host Greenville College Saturday afternoon at 3PM in another key SLIAC conference game. The annual Alumni Game will also follow Saturday's game at 5PM.
Fans are also encouraged to bring canned food donations to Saturday's games as part of the SLIAC's "Help Can Hunger" food drive.
