Senior forward Brady Slagle of Winchester, Ill., has been selected as the MacMurray College Student-Athlete of the Month for November.
Slagle was named the MVP of the Webster University/Cavallo Tipoff Classic Tournament during the opening weekend of the 2013-14 season in St. Louis, Mo. Slagle led the Highlander offense over the weekend, scoring 25 points against Calumet College-St. Joseph and 24 points against Rust College. He ended the weekend with a .526 field goal percentage, and also had 24 rebounds and five assists on the weekend. Slagle was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
For his performance at the Webster University/Cavallo Tip-Off Classic, Slagle earned St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Player of the Week honors for the week of November 18.
In the month of November, Slagle had a 58.6 percent field goal percentage, with an average of 19.8 points per game. He also average 8.8 rebounds per game and 3.2 assists per game.
“Brady is one of our hardest workers. He possesses all of the qualities that you want out of someone that represents your program and school. He has a strong work ethic, is an individual with high character, and is extremely gifted on the court,” said Head Basketball Coach Todd Creal.
MacMurray College Student-Athletes of the month are nominated by their respective head coaches and selected by a vote of the Student-Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC).
