The MacMurray College women’s soccer team fell to Benedictine University and Coe College at home this weekend, as they continue to look for their first win of the season.
On Saturday, September 8th, the team dropped a contest to Benedictine University, 6-0. The Highlanders only managed to tally 3 shots against the Eagles defense and they were not able to score a goal. Freshmen Kelli Sells and Briana Jungnickel split time in net and tallied seven saves and six saves respectively.
Unfortunately the Highlanders were shutout two days in a row, as they were defeated by Coe College on Sunday, September 9th by a final score of 12-0. The Highlanders were significantly outshot and Coe also held the advantage in corner kicks. Junior Kristen Elsila had two shots on goal in the contest, while senior Dana Steben had one.
The Highlanders return to action on Tuesday, September 11th when they travel to Stephens College for a 4:00pm contest.
