Team of Distinction Recognition Program
Information
The purpose of the MacMurray College Team of Distinction recognition program is to recognize a specific team who has made exceptional contributions to the achievements and prestige of MacMurray College in the field of athletics.
Eligibility
Teams become eligible for Team of Distinction recognition five (5) years after the completion of their season. Typically, a Team of Distinction has won a conference, regional, or national championship; been undefeated over the course of its season; considered to be one of the “very best MacMurray teams ever” in the respective sport; or has overcome exceptional challenges to be successful.
Selection
Selections are made by a committee of representatives from the Office of Institutional Advancement, Office of the President, and Athletics Office. Nominations, which are accepted throughout the year, must include information on the team’s accomplishments as well as a point of contact* for the group. A nomination for can be found below.
*The contact person will be asked to serve as the liaison between the College and the team, assist in finding alumni who are not in contact with the College, etc.
Recognition
Recognition ceremonies will be held during the pre-game or half-time show of the corresponding alumni athletic game. Members of the Teams of Distinction will receive a specially-designed certificate.
